FHF Celebrates 2nd Anniversary With Orphans at Ilogbo Orphanage Home in Ughelli, Donate Food Items, School Bags

Fostering Hopes Foundation (FHF), a non governmental organization committed to the mandate of making vulnerable families stable, developing and fostering children has marked her second anniversary with orphans in a memorable style in Ughelli with donation of of sundry gift items including food items and school bags worth several thousands of naira.

The anniversary which took place at Mrs. Rose Ilogbo Orphanage Home in Ughelli, Ughelli South Local Government Area, Delta State was noted to be highly commendable by the Proprietress, Mrs. Rose Ilogbo, noting that she least expected it.

According to her, the orphanage which has been operational for 15 years, was initially confronted with challenges, amongst which was an issue of false allegations borne out of jealousy that resulted in a court case that lasted 5 years which she later won.

She added that currently the orphanage home has 18 children in its custody, 4 females and 14 males in both secondary, primary and nursery schools.

Speaking on behalf of Fostering Hopes Foundation, the Director of Community Engagement and Development, Comrade Patrick Ochei, highlighted the Foundation’s commitment to the vulnerable child protection and development.

He stated that the priority of the organization borders on touching lives in the state, particularly with a mandate to develop and foster children, going through challenges, adding that it is a mandate that is being executed without the funding of the government or anybody except the sole funding of the Founder and Executive Director, Nkechi Ukome.

Comrade Ochei while giving the orphanage management team the history of the Foundation, said that the organization’s vision is targeted at advocating for child protection and development; adding that the Foundation have fifteen families they are catering for, 52 children on scholarship across the state, visitation of orphanage homes, all being funded by only Nkechi Ukome Ukome, who is based in abroad.

The orphanage proprietress, Mrs. Ilogbo, in her remarks expressed appreciation to the organization for finding them worthy to be selected for their support and encouragement.

Highlights of the Second Anniversary visit were the introduction of the orphans, presentation of items donated, a worship song rendered by the orphans and a soul lifting prayers for the Foundation, for more uplifting for the visiting team and the Executive Director of Fostering Hopes Foundation, Nkechi Ukome.
