He described the outpouring of love as deeply touching.

The Governor spoke while thanking God for his 62nd birth anniversary during the regular morning praise/worship at the Government House Chapel, Asaba, where he described the outpouring of love and goodwill as deeply touching and uplifting.

Quoting from the scriptures, he said, “Psalm 100 verse 4, we enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. That is what I have come to do, to thank God.”

He extended gratitude to political associates, friends, well-wishers, and citizens across the country who sent birthday messages, prayers, and goodwill messages in newspapers/electronics adverts.

“Your kind messages, prayers, and thoughtful adverts in newspapers, and on television and radio stations truly warmed my heart and made my day extra special.

“Even those who didn’t support me politically still wished me well. That shows a deep level of love and maturity. I thank you all,” he said.

The Governor revealed that he often tries to keep his birthdays low-key, joking that he avoided celebrations last year to escape a surprise party.

However, he said that despite his efforts this year, close friends and family found him and celebrated with him.

“I tried to keep it quiet again this year, but some friends and my wife were in on the plan,” he said with a smile. “I was even a bit upset at first, but their love and persistence moved me.”

Reflecting on leadership and unity, Governor Oborevwori urged Deltans to continue praying for the state and its leaders, emphasizing that decisions taken in the spirit of prayer and unity could not be reversed by division.

“Let us stay united; you cannot pray and then turn around to curse. We must move forward together. With unity, more development will come. The love you have shown me must be repaid with service and appreciation.”

He also acknowledged greetings on the pages of newspapers from notable Nigerians. “I was overwhelmed by the number of people who reached out. It’s only God who can truly reward such love,” he added.

The Governor concluded his remarks with a prayer: “May joy, peace, and blessings never depart from your lives in Jesus’ name, I pray.”
