Following the release of the first batch of the Southern Delta University (SDU), Ozoro admission list, the Admission Officer of the institution, has urged applicants, parents and guardians to exercise caution on receiving admission information from individuals or social media platforms and urged them to confirm such information through the university’s official channels.
The Admission Officer, Mr Lucky Oboreh, who gave the advice in a chat with the press on the university’s admission exercise for the 2026/2027 academic session last Thursday in his office, encouraged the newly admitted students to always check the university’s official website and admission portal regularly for accurate information and updates.
He emphasized that new students should always get admission information only from official sources to avoid mistakes, delays and falling victim to fraudulent admission schemes.
On the appropriate procedures, the Admissions Officer advised that “as the university continues its admission process for the 2026/2027 academic session, admitted students are advised to proceed with their acceptance payment, clearance and registration as required.
“The university urged all applicants to follow the admission guidelines and complete the necessary processes in time to avoid unnecessary delays”.
Speaking further, he stressed the need for prospective students to follow the approved admission process and complete all required procedures; admonished applicants to provide correct personal and academic information during registration, warning that the submission of false information or forged documents could lead to disqualification.
Earlier, he explained that candidates seeking admission through UTME must have taken the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and obtained a minimum score of 150, adding that applicants must have at least five credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, in WAEC, NECO or NABTEB; the required credits which must be obtained in not more than two sittings.
Also on candidates seeking admission through Direct Entry, Mr Oboreh said they must have the required qualifications from recognised institutions, noting that the requirements may vary depending on the programme chosen by the applicant.
