The Management of Southern Delta University (SDU), Ozoro, Delta State, has denied increasing school fees for the 2026/2027 academic session, describing a fee schedule circulating on social media as misleading and urging students and the general public to disregard it.

The university made the clarification in an official bulletin issued by the Information and Public Relations Unit of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, Volume 270, dated Thursday, October 8, 2026, following the circulation of a purported school fees schedule for the new academic session.

According to the bulletin, the university has not increased its fees, adding that the charges remain the same as those paid during the previous academic session.

It also stated that the fees fall within the range charged by other universities within and outside Delta State.

The management expressed concern that the publication allegedly carried a forged stamp of the university’s Registry and a misleading date, warning that the document was not authentic.

The disputed schedule contained different fee totals for various levels of study and categories of students, including Delta and non-Delta indigenes.

However, the university maintained that the information was wrong in its entirety.

The management consequently urged members of the public, particularly students, to disregard the circulating document and rely on official university communications for accurate information concerning school fees.
