The newly renovated and upgraded Uruto Community Health Centre in Ozoro Kingdom has continued to record an influx of patients to the facility after the recent renovation and upgrade, two years after it commenced operations.
The nurse in charge of the health centre, Miss Okiemute Uzezi, said the facility has continued to make steady progress since it began operations as more families in the community are becoming aware of its healthcare services.
She explained that while some families were not familiar with the health centre when it opened, more residents have now become aware of its activities and services after the renovation and upgrade.
According to Uzezi, “the centre currently attends to an average of 15 patients every week, showing that more people are becoming aware of the facility and making use of its services for their healthcare needs”.
Corroborating Nurse Okiemute’s statement, a patient, Eloho Gloria, who was in the facility with her four months old baby at the time of the reporter’s visit, said she has been using the Health Centre since the birth of her first child.
She said “I returned to the health centre for my second child because of the kind treatment I receive from the nurses”.
Gloria further stated that she prefers the health centre because it has the facilities needed to provide care for mothers and babies.
According to her, the kindness of the nurses and the availability of necessary facilities have made her continue using the health centre.
The nurse in charge also said the health centre has basic medical equipment to support its daily activities.
She added that the facility has a waiting area where both children and adults can stay while waiting to receive medical attention.
Uzezi further said that staff members are available at the centre to attend to patients and carry out the daily activities of the facility, adding that the availability of staff has helped the health centre continue to serve residents in the community.
According to her, “the growing number of patients and positive experiences shared by users point to the increasing awareness of the health centre among families in Ozoro.
“Two years after opening, the facility has continued to provide quality basic healthcare services to residents”, she added.
