The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) leadership, Uruto community, Ozoro, has raised concern over the increasing rate of bungling of churches by miscreants and carting away of musical instruments with other valuable items.
The Chairman of the PFN in the area, Rev. Saturday Oyibo, disclosed this during an interview with our correspondent at the fellowship’s monthly conference held last Sunday, September 20, 2026.
Oyibo said the development was one of the major challenges confronting churches in the area, stressing that the theft of church property could disrupt worship activities and place additional financial burdens on the congregation.
He urged churches to strengthen their security measures, including the installation of closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, while advising members to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements around their places of worship.
The PFN chairman also highlighted the fellowship’s contribution to community development, explaining that its monthly conference is rotated among different communities to bring churches and residents together through prayers, the word of God and other activities.
According to him, the fellowship also organises programmes aimed at supporting youths and discouraging them from crime, drug abuse and other social vices, as part of efforts to promote a safer and more responsible community.
Oyibo further called for continued prayers and cooperation among residents in addressing insecurity, while encouraging Christians and community members to participate actively in church programmes and remain security-conscious.
